Stallion Performance Test 2004, Adelheidsdorf

Overall score  149.29 / 1st of 31

Dressage score  153.37 / 1st

Jumping score  103.56 / 8th

Rascalino completed the dressage portion of his Adelheidsdorf performance test with the knockout score of 153.37. This score was good enough to make him the winner of the test, with the score of 103.56 on the jumping portion. In fact, this respectable jumping score is probably a product of the of the Wedekind/Ferdinand and Wendekreis/Ferdinand in damsire, Velten Third’s background. A further performance component is added through paternal grandsire Rubinstein I, a line known for dressage excellence, but also with some talent at the jump. World Cup III as the sire of the second dam insures dressage excellence.  Rascalino is a beautiful, elegant animal with the best gaits and exceptional freedom of the shoulders, sure to make his mark in modern dressage breeding, in the hoofprints of his famous sire and grandsire.

Rascalino is a glorious black son of Rotspon, born in 2001. He won his 70-day private stallion test at Adelheidsdorf in 2004, with a total point score of 148.29 points and led in the partial rideability index with the score of 153.37 points.

Lineage

His black sire Rotspon was the absolute champion of his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf in October 1998, with the best score in the partial rideability. He has produced numerous entrants in foal auctions and riding horse auctions in Verden. Romanze, the champion mare of the 2002 Ratje-Niebuhr Show in Verden is one of his finest from 65 state premium mares to date. Around twenty sons have also been approved, of whom Re Primeur FRH and Royal Blend were each awarded the Burchard Müller Prize as the best stallions of their respective age classes. Rotspon is among the leading dressage sires Germany-wide in the FN breeding value rating.

The damsire Velten Third only briefly covered in the Elbe-Weser River region, but still left state premium mares and a top auction lot in Verden. The third generation of Rascalino’s pedigree leads to high percentage black horse blood. The black horse World Cup III (Celle and Radegast state stallion) in the third generation, was trained up to advanced class and frequently passed on his great predisposition to his progeny, including White Foot ridden by Michael Klimke. The pedigree is rounded off well by the strong black performance stallion Salut, who presented many showjumpers for the international stage and the top dressage horse Souverän W. Jürgen Wirths.

Rascalino derives from a venerable Hanoverian mareline, which produced the stallions Donnermann (private stallion Netherlands), Faland (private stallion Hanover), Frapant-Star (private stallion Lithuania), Frisbee (Dillenburg state stallion), Gouverneur (private stallion USA), Waldmeister (Schwaiganger state stallion) and Winnipeg I (private stallion Sweden).
